Idra Novey is a novelist, poet, and translator. Her collections include Take What You Need (Viking, 2023), Ways to Disappear (Little, Brown and Company, 2016), and Exit, Civilian (University of Georgia Press, 2012). Her co-translation with Ahmad Nadalizadeh of Iranian poet Garous Abdolmalekian, Lean Against This Late Hour (Penguin Books, 2020), was a finalist for the 2021 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation. Her fiction and poetry have been translated into a dozen languages and she has written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and The Guardian. In 2022, she won a Pushcart Prize for her story “The Glacier,” published in The Yale Review. She teaches fiction writing at Princeton University.
